Frisky Friday Book Recommendation: Underneath It All by Kate Canterbary

It’s been a hot minute since I posted a Frisky Friday Book Recommendation.

Here we go:

When I’m not writing,  I’m reading…  You can view my Goodreads profile and click on “currently reading.”

“Underneath It All” {The Walshes, #1} by Kate Canterbary

underneath ti allSummary: If I had known I’d have a hot architect balls deep inside of me before the end of the weekend, I’d have made time for a pedicure.

It’s all the little things—the action plans, the long-kept promises—that started falling apart when my life slipped into controlled chaos.

After I met Matthew Walsh.

I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to run screaming or rip his pants off, and most days I wanted a little of both. If I was being honest with myself, it was rip his pants off, ride him like a workhorse, and then run screaming.

A rebellious streak ran through Lauren Halsted. It was fierce and unrelentingly beautiful, and woven through too many good girl layers to count, and she wasn’t letting anyone tell her what to do.

Unless, of course, she was naked.

She wasn’t looking for me and I sure as shit wasn’t looking for her, but we found each other anyway and now we were locked in a battle of wills, waiting for the other to blink.

Sometimes the universe conspires to bring people together. Other times, it throws people down a flight of stairs and leaves them in a bruised and bloodied heap.

My Thoughts:

FIVE “Yes, Matthew you can bite and mark me any day” Stars.

There’s nothing sweeter than finding a new author and a fantastic set of characters to fall in love with – It’s a DOUBLE BONUS when the storytelling, writing and those perfect one-liners and LOL moments stick in your head for days leaving you craving more!

First we start here: “If I had known I’d have a hot architect balls deep inside of me before the end of the weekend, I’d have made time for a pedicure…” ~Lauren

If that sentence doesn’t grab your attention and make you just a little curious… well, then you are missing out on a fantastic book.

I absolutely loved Lauren and Matthew’s story. They were all kinds of relatable, and their story had plenty of humor, dirty talk, delicious banter, steamy sex, and adorable swoony romantic moments.

Here’s what you need to know – Lauren is DRIVEN! She’s a hard-working teacher who is passionate about her job, knocks back tequila shots, indulges in pastries and expensive lingerie (YOU love her already). She is your stubborn friend that you might want to smack because no boy is gonna shake her plan. Enter sexy Matthew Walsh… handsome workaholic architect with a head for math and a mouth for biting, growling and saying the MOST fabulously filthy things. {Trust me you want to read their story.}

I want to be adopted by the Walsh family for some strange reason. I love the family dynamic between the super close siblings. They are a hilarious, teasing and supportive bunch of characters. One moment you’re a “Douche Canoe”, a “Dick with an attitude problem” or you find yourself taking heat for Sexting in front of your brother, the next you find yourself at a bar drinking a beer, ordering mussels, onion rings and sorting out your problems – work, family or personal. {Canterbary does an EXCELLENT job introducing each sibling, giving you insight to what may come from the rest of the series.}

Underneath It All is full of sexiness, charming characters, witty dialogue, descriptive details, and super sweet moments. Five stars from me. Cannot wait to read more! {P.S. Kate, I need Shannon’s story asap.}
